The Con is ON
Returning to Comic Con this Wednesday. Thanks to my good friend Dan Cooney for opening up his booth to me, Jeremy Saliba, and Nicolas Villarreal. This will be an amazing show - and that’s not just hyperbole. I’ll be trafficking in copies of Worlds Apart, shaking hands, and promoting new projects. So, if you’re at SDCC, then please at least stop by and take one of the aforementioned handshakes. You’ll be able to find all of us at Booth 5530:
One Month to SDCC
One month from today, I shall indeed be at the San Diego Comic Con. I have been graciously invited to share space at the Red Eye Press booth by my good friend and artiste Daniel Cooney. We’ll also be joined by fellow amigo and Worlds Apart artist Jeremy Saliba. Expect an update with a specific booth number and location as we get nearer our launch date.
Last year’s SDCC was my favorite conventioning experience to date, replete with copious hobnobbing, networking, and little sleep. This year, I’m expecting more of the same. Again, more updates in the days to come!
From the Trenches
Wondercon was a terrific experience. We met a plethora of great folks, traded more business cards than I can count, and engaged in a fair amount of “networking”, defined herein as “consuming generous amounts of alcohol in a social setting with like-minded purveyors of a craft”.
That’s me, just after completing set-up on Thursday.
Below, you’ll find artists Jeremy Saliba and Tareq Mirza, each doing what he does best.
24 Hours of Creative Madness
This past Saturday was the annual 24 Hour Comics Day, wherein hardcore comic artists - both professional and aspiring - hunker down for a solid day and churn out an original work from start to finish. At the Academy of Art University here in San Francisco, 50+ students - both current and former - pulled one of the ultimate all-nighters and produced some solid pieces.
The event was shepherded by local indie creator Dan Cooney, and resulted in an amazing 24-page work by my once and future collaborator Mark Simmons. That’s right. 24 pages in 24 hours. Bow in awe. Below, we see Mark posing with his completed opus….
Check out the first story he and I did together - here.
